Brent Walker and Tian Axmar are together almost by accident. Tian needs a ride off planet and Brent and his small freighter are available. Something bad is happening to both humans and Yrmaks. It is Tian's job to find out what. She and Brent work well together but Tian has secrets that mean she and Brent cannot stay together after the problem is solved. Look for a interesting twist at the end. I hope that means we will see more of the two. I alway like to see characters from previous stories in the Dryden Universe and one of my favorite Admirals plays a small part is Eye of the Mother. Hope to see more of him in the future as well.
I have read all of Greta Van der rol's science fiction and always look forward to a fast paced adventure with a little romance thrown in - this book didn't disappoint. In the book we get to meet new characters and again come across 'The Demon'. I know this was about Tian but would have liked to see more of the Jort Admiral and know what has been happening for him. An enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book in the series)
Greta van der Rol does it again with a splendid melding of science fiction, suspense, high tech, political intrigue and a dollop of romance. Brent is something we haven't seen before in these tales of derring-do in the far reaches of space—he's a nice guy just making do as best he can. When he stumbles across what appears to be a damsel in distress, he's in for not just a shock, but the ride of his life. Tian, of course, is an Imperial agent looking to uncover who's killing both humans and Yrmak. What she and her new partner, Brent, discover might just blow the lid off an unsteady alliance.
Great pacing, fantastic chemistry between the characters, and a sure hand with technical details makes this a SciFi adventure you don't want to miss.
I can't believe not better known. All of her books are engrossing.
